Stronger Farms. Stronger Forests. Sustainable Change.
More than half of the world’s tropical forests are already gone and we are losing the other half at the rate of one acre every second. As a result, more than half the species of plants and animals in the world are disappearing, along with carbon stores, which stabilize the global climate. We provide customized training to farming families in Central America. Our programs help family farmers adopt sustainable farming practices, enhance small businesses, and build self-sufficient communities.

El Caliche: A Model of Climate Resilience
El Caliche, a community in Honduras, joined Sustainable Harvest International's program that implements regenerative agriculture. Over the course of five years, participating farming families planted trees, grew their own food in backyard gardens, and earned a living wage thanks to the abundance of their organic harvests. This is just one example of the work nonprofit Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) does in Central America.
