ADVICE FOR LIFE, BY YOUR TRUE NATURE
Business Partner

Founded in 1992, Your True Nature began when founder Scott Alyn was struggling with work and personal relationships. Seeking clarity, he turned to nature—especially to trees—for inspiration. He changed his name to Ilan Shamir, meaning “protector of the trees,” and committed his life to advocating for nature’s wisdom.

Your True Nature eventually became Advice for Life—a fitting name for a business that shares inspiring advice from the natural world. One of our favorite products is the “Advice from a Tree” Greeting Card. We at SHI try to live by this advice every day!

Giving back is at the heart of what they do. Advice for Life proudly supports environmental nonprofit organizations, and encourages its customers to do the same. Since its beginnings, the company has shown an unwavering commitment to sustainability and environmental restoration.

At Advice for Life, we’re all about sharing meaningful messages through nature-inspired products—bookmarks, stickers, magnets, and more. Items we create offers a little wisdom from the natural world, whether it’s “Advice from a Tree” or encouragement from a waterfall or a woodpecker. It’s a simple but powerful way to connect people to nature and to each other.

We also take our mission seriously. For every bit of paper we use, we replant seedlings to give back to the environment. And with certain collections, we donate profits to organizations we believe in. It’s not just about selling products; it’s about doing good while we do business.

A GROWING COMMITMENT

When Advice for Life first partnered with SHI, they pledged to plant one tree for every order. In 2024, they deepened that commitment—now planting one tree for every $20 in sales.

This expanded support demonstrates their lasting dedication to forest preservation and their belief that positive change is always possible.

Advice for Life reminds us that we can choose to live by our values, no matter our profession. After all, isn’t that our true nature?
