  Thanks Joy - sorry we overlooked your question about the stoves. The answer is yes they burn cooler, for better and worse.
  The walls absorb and retain a lot more of the heat, whereas before the heat was escaping rather easily. It's still somewhat hot, but more comfortable. Now you can touch the sides of the stove and feel no heat, where in old pit fires and stoves, it would be very hot.

  As a RPCV who worked as an AG. extensonist in Honduras,I can say that this is a wonderful and true to life video. The lucha is tremendous and the Honduran people are strong. Like many challenges to changing peoples behavior, it takes a concerted and sustained effort to alter people's basic practices, especially when one is faced with walking on a razor's edge of hunger. Way to go SHI for your concerted and long term effort.
