Irrigation Systems

IrrigationSHI helps families with basic irrigation for their agricultural plots. Irrigation techniques differ in how the water is distributed, but the goal is to supply the entire plot uniformly with water, so that each plant has the amount of water it needs, neither too much nor too little.

One of the irrigation systems that we use is drip irrigation. Drip irrigation is a method which minimizes the use of water and fertilizer by allowing water to drip slowly to the roots of plants, either onto the soil surface or directly onto the root, through a network of valves and tubing. This cost-effective and time-saving method ensures that a garden is well-watered and conserves a great deal of valuable water and energy.
