Sustainable Harvest International needs your support to
build a sustainable agriculture demonstration farm in Panama.
 Panama's
tropical forests are home to more than 10,000 different species of plants and
animals. Unfortunately our planet loses approximately 7 species each
day! Most of these extinctions take place in the tropics where unique fragile
ecosystems are quickly being destroyed by agricultural expansion. Farmers
in the tropics are desperate to learn ways that they can grow the food they
need to support their families without destroying the environment. Help
SHI's Panama
program construct an educational center where local families can learn about
techniques they can use to improve their diets, health and incomes while
protecting the environment.
SHI's Panama Demonstration Farm will be located on 10 acres in Panama Canal watershed. The solar-powered training center will have
classrooms, dormitories, composting toilets, a kitchen and dining area.
Projects onsite will include:
The farm will be a place where local families can gain hands-on
experience in sustainable land-use practices that they can implement on their
own land and where individuals from all over the world can visit and
participate in classes, seminars and volunteer projects.
We need your support to build this important center! Please give your time, energy or a donation to make
SHI's Panama Demonstrataion Farm Project
a reality.
