Woman Power

March 8th is International Women's Day. Celebrate SHI's work to empower women and their families. We have expanded our efforts to work with women's groups in Honduras, Belize, Nicaragua and Panama. Click here to read about the success of one group of Honduran women who have received the technical training and support to start a cooperative bread bakery in their village.

Smaller World Service Tours in Panama and Honduras

Join SHI staff and local families in Panama and Honduras this May. We are looking for volunteers to help with two projects: Rice Paddy Construction in Panama May 14th - 24th and Sustainable Technologies at the SHI demonstration farm in Honduras May 26th - June 4th. Click here to learn more.

"We Send Our Deep Thanks"

My name is María Isabel Urbina and I am the director of Vincente Matute School in the community of El Paraíso Honduras. In the name of my students and myself, I thank Sustainable Harvest International, Erin Geiger and her family [SHI volunteer and supporters] for the projects they have done in my school. We have learned so much, not only about agriculture, but also about the environment.
