2016 Annual Report

(JULY 1, 2015 - JUNE 30, 2016)

Renee Johnson, Executive Director

A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Friend,

It has truly been an extraordinary year for Sustainable Harvest International. We have focused our work on the relationship-building that has been fundamental to nearly twenty years of success in the uncertain world of international development.

Each of farmer who works with us benefits from a series of important relationships; those within the family and the larger community, local field trainers, administrative staff in the United States, and the many donors, foundations, and partnerships that support their success.

My own connection to the farmers and families we work with has been strengthened as I've read their stories this year. From Joaquin Reyes' patient stewardship in Panama, to the determined resilience of Ramón Barahona and Sonia Salquero after fire destroyed their property in Honduras, I am so proud to lead Sustainable Harvest International in this important work. I hope you are equally proud to support it.

On the administrative end of our operations, we were anxious to institute standardized audit procedures across our offices in the US, Belize, Honduras, and Panama last year. As a result, our annual report is not yet finalized, but rest assured that we are working on it every day!

Thank you for helping to build the essential relationships that empower farmers to preserve the environment and improve their own wellness through sustainable farming.

Gratefully,

Renee Johnson signature
