Institutional Giving

Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) cannot achieve its humanitarian and environmental goals alone. Our success is made possible by a growing number of friends around the world, including reputable corporations, foundations and community groups.

CORPORATE PARTNERS

By donating and educating their employees and patrons about SHI's programs, each of our corporate supporters is taking steps towards minimizing the company’s environmental and economic impact on our planet. SHI works with its corporate partners to develop mutually beneficial relationships that promote the missions of both partners. If you have a business and are interested in supporting SHI, we would love to hear from you! Businesses of any size are welcome to join our distinguished list of Corporate Partners.

COMMUNITY PARTNERS

SHI works with Community Partners, including schools, congregations and clubs, to create direct connections between donor groups and the communities we serve in Honduras, Belize, Nicaragua and Panama.  Community Partners receive quarterly reports on the work they are supporting and also have the unique opportunity to participate in service-oriented trips to their sponsored community. Is your community ready to join our growing list of partners?

FOUNDATION PARTNERS
SHI’s Foundation Partners play a critical role in the strategic development, improvement and expansion of our field program.

WHAT OUR PARTNERS ARE SAYING

“Since Annie’s began in 1989, we’ve been dedicated to helping people and protecting the planet.  Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) shares those goals, and we’ve been proud to support SHI for several years.” John Foraker, CEO of Annie’s Homegrown

“Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) was selected as our donation recipient because we believe their mission closely aligns with our brand…We are very impressed with SHI’s work in Central America as they continue to improve the standard of living in many rural communities and help restore the rainforest. Today’s economy may be putting additional stress on financial resources for many organizations but we continue to support SHI’s efforts because we believe their long-term strategy will positively impact people around the world. Through the purchase of Our World™ Organics, consumers are making a healthy choice for themselves as well as for their family, and helping to save the environment for years to come. We look forward to continuing to support SHI’s efforts.”
Bud Floyd, C.H. Robinson's V.P. of Produce Marketing

"Respect for our environment and nature's precious and fragile gifts has always been part of our operating philosophy. Our Plant-A-Tree program sponsorship is a natural and living extension of that policy and our commitment to the environment. We will honor our company's commitment to show respect for nature and maintain environmental integrity by planting a tree for every treatment and portable massage table sold. We are very proud of LEC's legacy as an environmentally responsible company and our partnership with Sustainable Harvest International is a fundamental step in making a better tomorrow, today." Jim Chenevey, CEO and President of Living Earth Crafts

“Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) is the ideal partner… It is one thing to visit the SHI website and read the various reports and informational materials, but seeing the program in action was incredible. It is obvious that SHI is making a real difference in improving the lives of these farmers and their families.”
Diane Ragone, Ph.D., Director, The Breadfruit Institute, National Tropical Botanical Garden

“It is a pleasure to read the community reports and picture the work I witnessed in San Lucas along with other projects in Belize. Nana (SHI-Belize Country Director) and his staff do an excellent job guiding and encouraging the people of their potential and the magnitude of what they can accomplish. I have never observed such hard working people as the people of Belize, working for a better life for themselves, their families, their community and the world – including me.  Their effort and work with SHI is impacting the world’s environment – a message I try to convey to my fellow Garden Club members here in Maine.” Mary Pat Gibson, Piscataqua District Garden Clubs

“Sustainable Harvest International is utilizing innovation and ingenuity to achieve a greater social mission impact."
Scott Schnapp, Executive Director, Maine Association of Non-Profits

"I just returned from a 10-day trip to Honduras with Sustainable Harvest International. That small organization with a relatively small staff ... is doing a fantastic job helping the rural areas of Honduras diversify crops and re-forest the denuded mountains of the country. [They] demonstrated a dedication and grasp of both the problems and possible solutions that I found worthy of Nobel prize recognition. The leadership of our Smaller World Tour by an employee of SHI was first-rate. We worked, we learned, we contributed. If there is truly a way to help the impoverished developing world, SHI holds the key."
